Chaplain: Maurice Demers

 Maurice DeMers is a proud U.S. Navy Veteran whose connection to the American Legion began decades ago as a French horn player for the American Legion Band in Minneapolis. Driven by a lifelong desire to give back to the veteran community, Maurice officially realized his goal of joining the Legion four years ago and has distinguished himself by serving as the Post Chaplain for the entirety of his membership. His dedication to service was first forged in the Navy, where he served as a Hospital Corpsman (E3). After completing three years of rigorous training in the Naval Reserve, Maurice transitioned to active duty, highlighted by an 18-month deployment to the U.S. Naval Hospital Subic Bay in the Philippines. This commitment to providing care and support, once practiced in the Pacific, now finds its home in his vital role as Chaplain, where he continues to serve his fellow veterans.
